Bachelor of Multimedia Communication (BMMC)

Course Duration: Regular Degree programme

Eligibility: Pass in +2 or equivalent examination

The BMMC programme is designed to enrich students in the art and craft of multimedia production so as to enable them to emerge as thorough professionals combating to the manpower needs of the fast-growing multimedia industry. This programme provides a vivid professional education in the theory at the core as well as complimentary areas and by which one is enriched to the scope of practical training in the core areas of multimedia productions. This course envisaged to equip students in manifold realms of multimedia productions such as animation, audio & video, productions, graphic designing, web designing etc. Minimum qualification for admission to this course is a pass in +2 or any equivalent examination.


Bachelor in Visual Communication (BVC)

Course Duration: Regular Degree programme

Eligibility: Pass in +2 or equivalent examination

Bachelor in Visual Communication is intended to make you proficient in all the aspects of Visual media Communications. This Degree course is to enrich creativity and visual faculties, to make visually conscious, to understand the language of visual arts, to become visual communicators and to be successful media professionals in this comptative world. If you are passionately motivated to work in Television, Film industry and Advertisement, this course will provide you a firm foundation for your professional goals. Bachelor of Mass Communication And Journalism (BMCJ)

Course Duration: Regular Degree programme

Eligibility: Pass in +2 or equivalent examination

This course will empower you with the knowledge on the basic principles of Mass communication and Journalism. The graduate department of Journalism programme aims to provide a firm foundation for the students to either directly get into print/broadcast media or going for other higher studies. The course is a combination of theories and practicals. It provides the theoretical basis for understanding the various terms and applications in journalism. The Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to Plus Two for admission.


Bacheler of Film And Television (BFT)

Course Duration: Regular Degree programme

Eligibility: Pass in +2 or equivalent examination

Bachelor of Film and Television programme is a three-years graduate programme designed to equip the students in the arts and crafts of Film Making process and Television programme production in the digital context. The programme offers the students a unique opportunity to acquire first-hand experience in creating various elements of film and television productions, from conceptualising, producing, writing, shooting and editing. This programme is structured to provide a sound footing in theoretical and practical area of Film and television production. Minimum qualification for admission to this course is a pass in +2 or any equivalent examination.


BA Graphic Design and Animation

Course Duration: Regular Degree programme

Eligibility: Pass in +2 or equivalent examination

Admission Procedures

Those who have completed their intermediate courses equivalent to Plus Two and those who are waiting for the results can apply for the admission.

Applications for admission must be made in the prescribed form available from the College Office and website on payment of a Registration fee of Rs. 250. Registration of an application is not a guarantee for admission. University rules and regulations should be followed for the admission.

Admissions will be strictly based on merit and as per the policies framed by the management in adherence to the rules & guidelines given by the University and the concerned Higher Education Councils. While the University declares the admission, all the candidates should apply for the CAP ID and should follow the rules and regulations.

The Board of Admissions consisting of Management & Staff Representatives controls the entire admission process in a transparent manner.

The Admission Process for all the courses commences immediately after the Plus Two results are released.

Aspiring Candidates may approach the college office during working hours for prospectus &application form or may download the same from the website www.dims.edu.in

Candidates should go through the entire prospectus before they start filling in the application form.

Application forms should be filled in carefully; incorrect or incomplete application forms will be rejected.

Shortlisted Candidates will be allocated a date & time for their personal interview with the Board of Admissions and they will be informed of the same through a call or letter.

Candidates along with their parent/guardian should appear in time for the interview with three passport size photographs and necessary original documents and two sets of Xerox copies for the same as given below.

  1. SSLC & Intermediate Original Certificates.
  2. Marks Memos for the Qualifying Exam
  3. Transfer Certificate
  4. Migration Certificate (for Candidates who switches their University to Calicut)
  5. Study Certificate
  6. Conduct Certificate
  7. Any other relevant certificate.

The final admission status will be informed to the candidates immediately after the personal interview. However, students have to pay their First instalment of fees in order to confirm their admission.

The original certificates submitted to the college office will be returned only at the completion or cancellation of a course or at the instance of a transfer to another college.

The final date of admission with or without a late fee will be published in the notice board of the college after which applications for admission will not be considered.
